Description of Acrylic Painting (Summer 2025):

This class is suitable for any student with an inclination or even a mild interest in acrylic painting. We will cover the basics of painting such as: setting up a paint palette, color theory, color mixing, brush & palette knife application, subject matter, composition, proportion, and referencing both living and historical painters.

After spending some weeks establishing the basics of painting, we will create a series of paintings utilizing skills students have learned.

In the final weeks, we will wrap up what we have learned and discuss ways of developing a more permanent art practice. The goal is that by the end of the 12 weeks, students will feel informed and inspired to keep painting.
