• Mathematical thinking takes on many forms. One of them is geometry which is often more easily grasped for some students than arithmetical operations.

• This block challenges the students to think in this new way using only combinations of straight and curved lines. They are not allowed to measure, but must make complex constructions, such as an eightfold division of a circle, using only a compass and ruler.

• All constructions are then decorated as works of art, speaking not only to the thinking but also the feeling and will.
